Beginner Buttercream Cupcake

(Please note this class may end earlier depending on your abilities, this does not affect the integrity of the materials being taught)

Where: Scoop-n-Save -  #33B 1800 Tranquille Road, Kamloops


This class is an entry level class on the basics of buttercream and piping techniques. During the lesson you will learn about the different varieties of buttercream and their uses along with their strengths and weaknesses. The class instructor will demonstrate how to:

  • - make Standard American Buttercream
  • - colour the buttercream and discuss the differences in food colourings
  • - fit piping bags with couplers & piping tips
  • - how to properly fill a piping bag
  • - 3 different styles of cupcake decoration design
    Each student will receive 6 cupcakes to decorate: 3 of each demonstrated decorating design, with a take home box, a copy of the class notes, the recipe for the buttercream used, and a list of class equipment that is available in store for purchase to practice your new skills at home
