Even though Canada Post is back to work they are under a severe back log and being picketed across the country by other unions. What this means is that there are no guarantees for shipping with them at all as some facilities are unable to move parcels in or out of the main centers.
With Purolator they are picking up the parcels and shipping but due to the heavily increased parcel shipments, winter weather back east and mechanical failures they can not guarantee any shipments at this time. They are looking at a 2 -3 day delay in shipments on some areas.
The choices you have are to ship with Purolator, set up your own courier or Pick Up In Store. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused but we do not have any other options for shipping at this time.
*** UPDATE NOV 28th ****
Canada Post has been legislated back to work. They have started deliveries again but we were just notified by Canada Post that Non-CUPW unions are now striking in replacement of Canada Post employees. What does this mean ? That essentially they are still on strike and even though they may be picking up parcels they may not be delivered still. As of today Nov 28th they are striking at the Richmond, BC plant which means no trucks are able to go in our out of the plants location which again holds up the parcels to be delivered.
Our only options for you to get your parcels would be to still use Purolator or In Store Pick Up at this time. Purolator is not able to guarantee delivery times on their website but they will be able to get your parcels delivered faster than Canada Post. During Canada Posts Uncertainty with Negotiations
During this time of uncertainty with Canada Post we will be monitoring the situation closely. We wish to minimize as much impact as possible to our customers so we will be offering Purolator Express.
Please Note: The strike is rotating but we will leave the option to use Canada Post available on our site but will not be able to guarantee delivery and subsequently will not be held responsible for late or missing parcels. We feel that even though Purolator is a bit more expensive they will be your best option during this strike if you are needing your parcel to arrive in a timely manner.
A Signature is Required!
Please Note: Purolator Express requires that packages be signed for and if you will not be available to sign for your package and would like your package left without a signature (at your own liability) then you need to let us know in the comment section of your order. Otherwise if you are not there when Purolator comes to deliver;your package will be available on the next business day at the nearest Purolator Depot.
With the strike looming we are hoping to minimize the impact to you, our customers, as much as possible but there could be delays in shipping that will be completely out of our control. We appreciate your understanding as we do our best to still maintain getting your time sensitive parcels to you asap. With this strike you may want to considering purchasing in advance so that you have extra time if needed. You can also arrange your own courier to pick up your items if you wish and just use the In-Store Pick up option - then leave us a note in comments.
