Easy Pumpkin Pie Cupcakes

How to decorate your cupcakes:
Step 1: Bake your cupcakes and allow to cool for at least 45 mins – 1 hour.
Step 2: Make a batch of buttercream icing and reserve a small amount of white for the “whipping cream”. With the rest of the icing tint 1/2 of it Pumpkin and 1/2 of it Ivory using your Americolor food color.
To make open face pumpkin pie cupcakes:
Step 3: Taking the pumpkin colored icing and your angled spatula smooth ice the top of the cupcake making sure that you go to the edge.
Step 4: Add some ivory colored icing to a piping bag with a tip #8.Then pipe a shell border around the cupcake covering the edge. Using tip # 20 pipe a small dollop of white in the center to look like whipping cream.
To make crusted pumpkin pie cupcakes:
Step 5: Taking the pumpkin colored icing and your angled spatula smooth ice the top of the cupcake making sure that you go to the edge.
Step 6: Add some ivory colored icing to a piping bag with a tip #46. Then begin to pipe lines evenly across the cupcake to the edge. Turn the cupcake 180 degrees and pipe lines across the existing ones to create a “lattice effect” on the top. Pipe a shell border using tip # 8 around the cupcake covering the edge.
